Found this stuff over on cheaper than dirt for 7 dollars a box. most people seem to be shooting it out of their black guns. Found one review that the guy said not to use in your bolt action hunting rifle because it has a coated steel casing.

My question is why? What will it do if i shot is out of my ruger 308 bolt action rifle? Just want to use it for range practice.

Steel is harder than brass and will cause more wear. usually this type ammo (I haven't shot this particular stuff) is pretty dirty too. I probably wouldn't feed it to a Sako, McBros, or $2000 AR10

On the other hand it's cheap.

cheap ammo is fun until you find something that shoots real good then its not fun anymore. If I shoot the cheap stuff and get say a 2 inch group which is not bad but then shoot something that gives my an inch or smaller the cheap 2 inch stuff is no longer much fun. If you are blowing up watermelons then it dont much matter and you can shoot the cheap stuff. but if you are putting holes in paper then the little groups are way more fun.
