Just purchased one of these rifles, actually traded for it, my ruger m77 in SS, 308. The Browning is a 243. What do you guys think of these rifles?

Love it. Have an original A-bolt in 270 and sighted an A-bolt II today in 7 Mag. 3 shots under an inch. What more do you need?

I had one in .223 and really liked it as my primary coyote calling rifle. The trigger was sub par (lots of creep) so I bought a Moyers trigger and solved the problem. Accuracy was pretty good for a sporter barrel, but the magazine box was so short I could not reload by rounds out near the rifling unless I shot it single shot. The plastic stock was pretty cheap, and I could not find anywhere to buy a replacement. One thing I really liked was the short bolt throw.

I put a Leupold 3.5x10 and killed about 20 coyotes with it.

I finally traded it for a Remington 700, where I have lots of opportunites for upgrades, etc.

I've got an original A-bolt in 7 Rem Mag that is one heck of a shooter. Bullet holes are always in each other or at least touching. I have worn many a deer out with it over the years. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Got my Browning A-bolt last night. Beautiful rifle. The detatch mag thingy is a little wierd. May take some getting used to. Came with a Tasco Pronghorn 6-24x42. Actually was surprised by the clarity of this scope. Had a cheap one in 6-24x before and didn't really like it. Probably take it to the range tonight to see how she shoots. Now...what to name her!

I got one in a micro hunter .223 a few weeks ago, I really like it, short, light, and shoots an 1" out of the box! Better than the lvsf I just got rid of.

I had a A-Bolt ll composite stalker in 243.

It was a good little rifle, I put a Timney trigger spring kit in it and it shot really good.

I really wanted a Remington so I traded it off, but it was a real good rifle.

I have 3 A-Bolt stainless' all shoot great, especially for a hunting rifle. Thinking about dressing the 243 up after the kid is done with it this year or getting a .223.
