I just traded for a Browning A Bolt Rifle in a 204 Cal. Does anyone have one that can tell if they have any luck with accuacy on this firearm & what grain bullet are you useing? Thanks J.J.

This was shot with a Browning A Bolt using the 39 gr Blitzkings and Benchmark powder. Five shot group at 100yds. Factory everything cept ammo.

At one time I owned two 204s, decided I had one to many, the Browning A Bolt stayed with me.

Browning A Bolts, unlike most manufacturers models, come from the factory with their actions glass bedded and the barrel floated all the way back to the chamber, in order to provide better accuracy for you, the buyer. Once I bought one and discovered their inherent accuracy, I never hesitated about buying another one. They've all lived up to the quality that is put in them. The most accurate, consistent rifle I own is a Browning Micro Hunter "A" Bolt II, in the little 22 Hornet. Imagine that after all you hear about the groups to expect from a Hornet. LOL, it will beat what you see above, all day long.

That one flyer at 11 o'clock(top/left) on the group, ruined a nice 1/4" group and opened it up to probably 3/8ths" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

You folks must of have been the lucky one's to get a Browning to shoot! Or I was the unlucky one to get a bad Browning. Tried 4 different ammo's and never did get 2 shots to touch one anoter. I took it back to the guy I traded, He said he would send it back to the factory. If it was anything like Browning told me about my shotgun, The 204 will not be back until the first part of fall. I would think that they would have faster service than that. Hopefully it will shoot when ever I get it back. Later J.J.

I have an a-bolt stalker with boss in 300 mag. It absolutely will shoot nickle sized groups with factory ammo straight out of the box. I have owned this rifle for 8-9 years and would never part ways with it. Many animals have died in its sights! I must have got a good one!

I had a A-Bolt in 280 rem a very fine shooter but got rid of it because it had made in Japan stamped on the barrel

Did you not see the "Made in Japan" label when you bought it?

What is the problem anyway? is it Japan in specific or is it import in general?

The two I have (30-06 Medallion and 300WSM Stainless Stalker) are < MOA shooters.

There is not such thing as a National Economy anymore. The World is all tied together, especially our financial markets. You might as well get used to it. Buy American when you can, but remember, that rice burner Toyota is probably made in Kentucky now.

Not getting into politics, just the truth. Ain't gotta like it, just realize it.

White Eagle, don't stomp your own toe anymore.

God loves us all!

White Eagle,
I am not one bit offended. Everyone has the right to do whatever he wants with property he paid for and I respect that right. However, I was just being curious since reselling a new rifle always ends up with about 25% loss unless you got an extra good deal from start.

Boy give me them POS HOWA or Browning rifles anyday. It beats the high priced US made(used to be good) crap anyday.

Hey ABolt how do you like the feeding of your wssm. I had a hard time getting my rounds to chamber out of the magazine and into the chamber. Like sticking a wooden block in a round hole. Loved the gun...hated the round.

the factory ammo loads perfect. i only had problems with the 100gr reloads... but now i'm shooting the 87gr bthp (great bullet!) and i haven't had any problems with them. it takes a lil work to get the seating depth right... but it's worth it when your shooting five shot groups like this at 100yds
