I did some side work on a guys truck for him. As part of the payment he gave me this scope still in the box & sealed. I was thinking about putting it on my Savage 223. Anybody out there have any experience with this scope?

BSA Mil-Dot Target/Hunting rifle scope 3-9x40mm

Thanks jeff

Ive run a BSA platnum 6-24x44 target scope on my .223 FP10 for 15+ yrs now....NEVER a problem at all. In the rain, snow, mud, dropped 4x and still keeps on ticking.
Never an issue with tracking, reticals loose, or anything else.
I also have a BSA "tactical" scope, 30mm tube, 6-24x44 SF, target dials, mildot on my new FP10, .223 for the last 2 yrs...and its like my 1st, NOT one single issue to date, yup its been in the rain, snow, -20 hunts, tracks perfectly like my old one.

Thats a newer 4x16 x 44IR catseye on my AR in the avatar pic....paid 69 bucks for it new...tried and tried to find the need to replace it,,but havent yet.....X

Chupa
That cracked me up!!!! Good advise though.

I fell for the "sweet 17" scope a few years back to put on my HMR. Could not get the scope to zero and the adjustments were way off. Took it back and replaced it with a cheaper bushnell scope. Since then I've grown to realized what difference quality optics make. You couldn't give me a BSA to put on any of my rifles. You get what you pay for.

I have the 6-24 x 44 tactical mil dot mentioned above. It seemed to hold its zero OK, but I eventually replaced with a Leupold. I would spend the money and get a better scope right away, that way you won't be looking to upgrade and spend money on optics twice.

Wouldnt let my enemy mount one on his rifle!!!! Would feel to bad knowing he didnt stand a fair chance! They are the biggest piles of pooh one could waste his money on>

YES SIR.

I do not have any real experience using BSA optics, save for watching a couple of them break, new out of the box, when mounted on a pair of slug guns.

Just looking through a BSA is enough to make me not want one. Granted I haven't looked through every model, but the the ones I have looked through looked "yellow".........
