Get a 12" twist - there are some very slippery bullets that require the 12". Make the barrel as long as you can live with.
I shoot 55 BKs @ 4,100 with 4007 SSC powder.
It is a lightening stick.
Load to touch the rifling, and if your loaded round won't fit in the magazine, get a 308 magazine box.
