bullet seating depth questions

hey, i just got a lee reloading kit and everything is goin pretty smooth, just taking some time to get everything going, since i've never reloaded. anyway, i was trying to figure out where to get the bullet seated, and i dont have a micrometer, so i started with the bullet way out, and kept adjusting the die (hornady) a half turn down on the adjuster and kept trying to see when it got to where it wasnt jamming into the lands any more. however it got to the point that the bullet was seated where a factory loaded round was, as far as overall length, and it still feels tight when i close the bolt. i thought the brass might have been resized badly in the hornady full length resizing die, but i put a round in that had been full length sized and it was fine, so im not sure why the dummy rounds i was trying to set the bullet in is still being stiff when i close the bolt. hope this made some sense /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif so any input would be a great help! thanks!!!

i got it fixt, i hadthe bullet seating die setup incorrectly and it was scratching the outside of the case and then making it chamber too tightly

no, well, actually i didnt fix it.... the thread titled something like "yet another reloading question, this time bullet seating die" is where this continues.
