We spent half the night hunting along the flats and bottoms of the Canadian River, but the coyotes weren’t very active—we didn’t even hear them howl until our last stand. Still, it was a blast hunting with a great group of guys. The most memorable part of the night? Getting pulled over by the cops for driving a side-by-side down a state highway. The lady officer even asked if we ate the coyotes—had to laugh at that one.

The forecast had warned of severe conditions—winds gusting at 28 mph and a storm bearing down —but I decided to head out anyway. With the new moon and the shifting weather, the coyotes were restless. I was in the middle of breaking in the Silent AF FNG when the first bolts of lightning split the sky.

As I dragged the last coyote, I checked the radar. Deep reds signaled the torrential downpours, while swirling greens marked sheets of rain advancing fast. Looking up, I saw the electricity crackling on the horizon, closing in. It was time to pop smoke.

“What a great opening day. Finally got to meet up and hunt with a long time FB friend and Alamat coyote killa. Plenty of turkeys and a ton of laughs about growing up being half Filipino. Napkins and condiment packets 🤣 , you just have to know to know. We ended up doubling on two great Rio’s. Knocked down a couple of coyotes in that Western Oklahoma high night time winds ( no pic on those ). Cant wait to do it again. Thanks for the invite brother. “

Called in this long beard for my girlfriend’s son Alex;

On their way to South Dakota, Daniel and Lance made a stop in Oklahoma. That afternoon, they tagged two Rio turkeys, then after dark, they called in coyotes and scored on two out of three stands.

First night behind the AGM USA Rattler V3. Stands ran till daylight—bodies in the dew, fur stacked in the so-called merry month of May.

Been wondering where ya been, Jeremy. Great pics, nice ram! Thanks for sharing.
I too have been wondering, Clarence. And it appears that my guess was correct. Jeremy has been doing just as I imagined he would be doing. Out making memories and tipping over critters!

Incredible work as always, Jeremy! Thanks for giving us a peek into what you do, and do well! Looks like it was a good time had by all!

First pic has a lot of 'heavy eye lids':). So far, your spring is going much better than mine-unless something happens soon I might just have to eat the first turkey tag since '82. Almost no gobbling going on here in SW PA.
