Burris eliminator 3 scope

So about 6 months ago found a used Ruger Precision Rifle in 243 and it had a Burris eliminator scope on it. Not that it was anything I was looking for but for the price of the gun and scope was cheaper then just buying the scope alone I couldn’t pass it up. After closer inspection I don’t think it had more then maybe a clip ran threw it. Anyways on to the scope. It is the 4x16x50 and of course has a rangefinder built in. Has a menu setup choose your bullet weight grain and enter it all in zero the scope at 100 then shoot to 750 yards and adjust if needed. After that you just scope whatever it is that you want hit the button it ranges and illuminates the dot for the drop hold it on and squeeze. I have taken a nice deer this fall and 5 coyotes with it from 70 yards to 450 was the longest I’ve taken. Been in the cold the heat rain and snow and have had no issues. I always carry a spare battery just in case. Anyways if anyone has thought about one and have the cash I say get it! I have had great luck with it

It was just my day I guess. Really didn’t think I was going to be impressed with the scope but I must say I am. I plan on putting it to the test now that the calling has picked up. Also a nice piece of mind is the warranty from what they say anything happens anything at all the will replace it nice to have that.

I'm considering one for my AR I coyote hunt with a lot. These later season coyotes are wanting to sit down out past 300yds and not commit. Also not having to pack my rangefinding binos with me every time is appealing. Thanks for the review, I'm glad to hear from someone who has used one.

My rifle shoots very well with it's favorite load, but it's not a real fast one. I'm getting 2964fps from a 55gr V max from my 20" barrel. I wouldn't want to use that load at anywhere close to 750yds but would like to try to practice and see if I can be effective to 400 with the combo. Is there a way to set it up for a shorter range rifle like mine without shooting at 750? If I think I'm shooting anywhere close to that far I'll take the 264WM with the Huskemaw.

For the first couple months I didn’t shoot my 243 our to 750. I just entered my data and zeroed in at 100 and I was spot on all the way to 500. No when I finally did shoot 750!i was Probably 8 inches low and I did tweak my data some to bring it up at 750. But it didn’t really affect it at closer range. I to will be getting another one the 3x12x44 for my 223. The newest model has a little remote pad you can put on your forearm to press for yardage where as the older ones you have to push the button on the side and the yardage reticle and drop dot will stay lit for 90 seconds I believe.

Update with some pics of it and targets. The coyote target is 450 yards 4 shots all 4 hit and then the gong target is 750 yards 4 shots 3 hits the first shot didn’t hold for wind.

Pretty darn good shooting!

Does that scope have a standard reticle and then a rangefinder separate? I was curious if you could use it without batteries should they fail or if it needed them to function. Thanks.

Thanks! Yes it has a mil dot reticle and looks just like every scope out there, when you hit the button to range at the top it will say the yardage and it will light up a dot for the holdover. If battery is dead or close enough that you know you don’t need it, it functions no different then any other scope.

What coyote target is that how realistic to size of a coyote is it and how much was it? I’m looking to get a coyote shaped steel target.

It’s pretty close on body size. I’m not sure on the rest of the details it was a gift it was originally made to sit on a stand but I hung up.

We have two of them one on the 6-5 Creedmoor one on a 300 rum amazing how well they work.

I wish they would come out with another version though one with a little better glass and maybe some more technology Bluetooth where you could link to your phone & enter wind input. I think they have serious potential in a pdog town if they came out with a better reticle as well. I took the 6.5 to a dog town this fall & took some fast long range shots with great success but the reticle was too thick.

The newer ones with the pressure switch means you do not have to change your shooting foundation to range anymore-Wo-Hooo!
