Burris Eliminator III

I was wondering that now the Eliminator III has been out for a while now if anyone has experience with it. What is the quality of glass compared to a Lupy or NF? Does the calculator really work or is all the ads hype? Inquiring minds want to know.

There is at least one review on here I remember reading, (I will look for it) but I believe it was spot one with the hold over. If I remember he took it out to like 700 yards.. If I find thread I will put up the link..

Seriously, I've always wanted to try one of these, because you rarely hear anything bad about them. Midway's deal on the II is just too good to pass up. Would've like to have gone with the III but for $500 more, couldn't justify it. They did make some nice improvements though...

Lol kinda glad I would bought one, I'll wait till I get new 22-250 next week. I looked at these and was gonna ask found plenty of info before hand.

I was at Cabelas yesterday and looked at one. It is a lot bigger that it looks in the pictures, not overly huge though. It feels a little heavier that most scopes in that magnification range but is noticeably lighter that a 3.5 to 15 by 50 NF. Now just to wait for a killer sale.

Probably a good option for predators and PDs. I hear they're a lot of fun. I would not try to hunt big game with one, though. I've looked through several of them. The glare is pretty bad with all of the Eliminators. Worse than any conventional scope that I've seen. Stray light management is pretty poor. Not clear to me why that has to be the case.

Would there be any quality benefits of going with the eliminator 3 over the 1 or 2? Or just magnification?

It will range at any power. The 1 and 2 are only at max power.

Yea on my wish list to, I'm a little concerned about 3 year warranty on 1000+ scope. Been seeing the 2's on sale here and there.

Bubble, I am glad you brought this up. Looking at the Burris web site they say every Burris scope is warranted forever, then I looked through the Eliminator III user guide and it says 3 years on the electronics. I am with you that may be a deal breaker on a $1500 scope. I fired off an email to their CS asking them to clarify, I will let you know what they say.
