Burris Fullfield scopes.

I am thinking about putting one of the new Fullfield scopes on an AR, and I just wanted some opinions of some current users.
I haven't owned a Burris for twenty years and then it was of their pistol line and would like some good and possibly bad points about them. Thanks in advance for any advice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have the 3X9X40 fullfield 2 with the ballistic plex. I really like the clarity of the glass. I have not verified how close the hash marks are to what they claim. The only downside to me would be the power adj. it is connected to the eyepiece so it makes it hard to use caps one the eyepiece. I doubt that is much help but its a start I guess!

The Fullfield II tactical 3X9X40 in the OD matte finish is what I'm looking at. But no one locally has one to look at.
And was thinking about Bear Basin, or The Optics Zone.

I put a 4.5x14x42 FFII on my new DPMS Panther, and love it on that rifle. Scope is very clear and bright, and also has the Ballistic Plex recticle, which may come in handy someday, when I've had a chance to mess around with it a little bit.

My, brother has the burris scopes on his ar's(3 of them). He loves the hell out of them. Give him a little while he my respond. I'm going to order a RRar in the next couple of weeks and it will have a burris on top of it.

All three of my ARs are set up with Burris FF2 ballistic plex. My armalite has the 4x12x50, my Bushy Pred has 3.5x10x50 with lit retic, and my Bushy Stainless Varmiter has the 4.5x16x50, all are sighted in and inch high at 100yds, hold right on at 200, and use the first dot and it is inch high at 300. Don't know about after 300yds, the range I shoot at doesn't go past that. I also have three other Burris FF2, they are all the 3x9x40 with ballistic plex. 2 are on my two 17HMR Remingtons in the 597 and the other is on my Tikka T3 in a 25-06. As you can tell I love these scopes, I like them for their clarity in low light and for the $$ that they cost. You can't can beat their customer service either, great people to deal with when you have problems, my problem was being an idiot and dropped one while mounting it and dented the housing. Called them, set it in, and a new one---no charge--in one week after they received the dented one. Don't know if this is how they always handle their customer service, but I am glad they did for me!!

I have Burris scopes on just about all of my guns, including two ar's. I do not believe that you can beat the quality for the money.

Now I did mess up a Burris signature 6-24x50 a while back. It was compleatly my fault for the scope to break. I called Burris and they fixed the scope for only shipping and handeling. The only way I donot buy Burris is if they do not have a scope for me, like the Nikon Omega Black powder scope.

I have a 3X9X50 fullfield 2 with the ballistic plex. The clarity is great plus it gathers a lot light in low light conditions.

I have been told that the cycle of the bolt in a AR is harder on scopes than recoil. They will start to lose the zero when once sighted in. This is explained on the Burris web site. Burris has a system called "posi-lock" that will maintain your zero once sighted in. It is not available on all of there scopes, but certain consideration for AR shooters.

I've got Burris scopes on every rifle I own, the oldest one I bought new in 1975, it's still as clear and solid as ever.

I've always had Redfields or Leupolds but I am switching to Burris. Have a 6X24 signature, 4.5X14 FFII, and a 3X9 FFII. From now on I will we buying the 4.5X14. The magnification on 4.5 is wide enough for close work and the 14 on top end had really helped out over using a 3X9. Have the 6X24 on a WOA 223 varmint upper, the 4.5X14 on a 700 LVSF in 223 and the 3X9 on a 220 swift. Got to get me another 4.5X14 to go on the new Bushmaster Predator upper I ordered yesterday. Have a Leupold 4X12 on a 22-250 and sure do wish I had bought a 4.5X14 FFII at the time I got it.

I have Burris FF scopes on all of my rifles now. Like others have said, you can't beat the quality for the money. They've held up well in every hunting or target shooting situation I've had them in, and the Ballistic Plex reticle really works, once you get used to it!
