Burris LRS?

I am thinking of getting a Burris 3.5 - 10 X 50mm LRS scope with the ballistic plex reticle, and would like your thoughts on these. I have never used a lighted reticle scope before, so this is new territory for me. I had a ballistic plex reticle scope once and liked it, but found that the small hash marks were hard to see in low light. I think this LRS scope would help solve that problem. Please let me know how you guys like these scopes. Thanks.

I have five, two 3x9's and three 4.5x14's, all with the illuminated Ballistic Plex reticles. Love them. My son's rifle bounced out of my Hummer onto concrete and the scope didn't move a millimeter. In the past couple of weeks, I've made night shots on yotes at 200 and 485 yards. Battery life is great, haven't changed a battery yet, and a couple of the scopes are a year old. SWFA has them on clearance sale.

Kizmo, what is a scrat?

A coyote kill at 485 yards during the day is a great accomplishment for most of us. Congradulations on doing it at night. Wow.

Scrat is a term for gray foxes somebody here came up with, since they look (& act) like the character on Ice Age.

I do have to confess that I missed him the first time, but at that distance he didn't spook. With my mount, my ballistic plex is pretty much dead on at 250, 350, 450 and 550. My first shot was a little low. We had actually scared him out of the field when we drove in, but called him part way back. He just wouldn't come any closer, and he had been harassing the cows to the point they had torn down an electric fence. Fortunately the wind wasn't blowing. Even more fortunately, I got lucky.

I have the older style Burris LRS, with a switch setting for medium and for high. The medium is too bright, so it's better to use it without the LRS. I've heard the new electronic LRS with multiple settings is good, so you can really dial in the lowest possible setting.

A Lightforce 240(?) (the great big one) with a 12V 10.5 amp battery pack, no red filter. At that distance, I could even see the black tip on his tail through my scope when Miz Kiz cranked it up all the way.
