Burris Thermal Scopes

I am seeing some mixed (some times poor) reviews of Burris thermal scopes. I have a chance to buy a new in box Burris BTH 35 Thermal 2.3-9.2x35mm Multi-Reticle scope for $670.00. I can get the Burris BTH 50 Thermal 3.3-13.2x50mm Multi-Reticle for $870.00. These are from a huge dealer that is dropping the Burris line (that is a red flag if I ever saw one). I am a new user to thermal. Should I bite the hook of save up for a hogster?

Our local dealer can't hardly give them away. I only messed with them in the store and outside the store and I was really let down. Lots of way better options out there IMO.

The Pulsar XG50 at Europtic for $3400 is the best bargain available right now. I spent about half the day yesterday on the range with my buddies and its a really nice optic for someone trying to save a buck.

Here is a post on another site talking about them. Don't seem to be in the league of most other main options. I realize at the price you are talking about they seem really attractive.

I mounted the BTS35 on my TC dimension(the stock works well with digital scope bases). 5 shots to zero at 100 yards(including a 3 shot final group). Last night a large male coyote came in to a bait I had out. 1 shot with a 40 gr BIB bullet(125 yards) no exit. Load is 27gr IMR 8208 Win brass, either a BR4 or Rem 7.5. Huge step up from Leupold scanner/Wraith scope combo. Hooked now, will need to save up for even better(video capacity) thermal scope.
