Bushmaster V-match?

I have a question. Does anyone own one of these. Are they accurate. I'm making a list of possible varmint rifles to get. My fiance is buying me one for a wedding present. I've narrowed down the bolt guns (either a savage BVSS or remington 700 VSF)but I wanted to add a semi-auto. I've heard a lot of guys say good things about the varminter and the predator rifles on here but they are a little out of the price range I'm looking at. I've also noticed that Rock River has some nice Varmint rifles. Any information would be appreciated. Should I forget the AR-15 style and just go with the Savage or Remington?

I like the Bushmaster M4 Superlite. The only difference is that it has got a barrel that is a few ounces lighter than the other AR15 styles. I love it. It is very consistent. I have yet to nail any predators with it but I'm sure I will have the oppurtunity. As for the V-match, I don't know. I've never had any expierence with it it. But I would definately put an AR15 style firearm on the list. They have stood the test of time.

I just purchased a Bushmaster Varminter and am extremely pleased with it's accuracy. I added a Leupold 6x18 AOT with Black Hills (blue box) 60 grain V-match. I am shooting sub 1/2 groups at 100 yrds. (5-shots) While it has been years since I had owned an AR, I had forgotten how accurate they can be. I spent 4 yrs in the marine corps in the early 80's and came to love the black gun after getting out of the corps. No one loves them while you in because they are always inspecting them. LOL.

I would look at other posts on this forum as they were extremely helpfull in my decision.

I have a 20 inch Bushmaster V-Match. It shoots under 1/2 inch at a 100 yards. It is almost the same as the predator. Weighs the same just no fluted barrel or slotted forarm (vented tube), thanks Byron. I have a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X50 on mine. Byron South had the V-Match before the predator. I got mine at half the price of a predator after it had been shot once. The previous owner wanted a quieter rifle. His loss my gain. It's a great calling rifle.

The V-match is a great calling rifle. Very accurate and very dependable. The only differance between it and the new "Predator" is that the predator comes standard with a better trigger, fluted barrel, and vented tube.

Mine does the same, although I have the 16" fluted barrel on my V-match.

My 16" V-match would do the same, I'm glad I'm not the only one who got those results with a CHROME lined barrel!

Same here 20" V-Match, 60gr. VMax Black Hills ammo 1/2" at 100. Changed the trigger to a two stage Jewel and put a hogue grip on it. By far my favorite rifle.
