Bushnell Banner Scopes ??

Hello
I am thinking about Buying a Bushnell Banner scope in the 6x18 power for a ar15 and was wondering if anyone ever used one of these scopes?? Going to Wyoming this fall and wanted to use my AR there on PD's and maybe some Coyotes,, so did not want to spend big bucks on a scope that will only be used a few days ?? Since we cannot hunt with a semi here in Pa .
Is the 6x18 ok for night hunting or is the 4x12 a better choice for night hunting ??

Thanks
Dave

I have the banner 4-12 on one of my AR's and my Rem 700 270 - I like them very much. I have never been spoiled by the high end scopes so the Banners are perfect for me. I have the Burris Fullfield II 3-9 on my Rem 700 30-06 and can't really tell the difference between it and the banner.

I use the banner 4-12x40 on most my guns. I have been more than happy with them. I have had some of the higher priced scopes and did not notice enough difference to justify the price. As for the night hunting if you are planning on doing it in wyoming you better check the laws because it is not legal except on private property with the landowners permission.

I have a Banner on my 50cal muzzle loader. Been there for 3 years & it still shoots +1" at 100yds. Thats just the way I set it. HTH

I had a bad experience with the first banner I bought so I haven't tried them again (the same thing happed with a Savage 99 rifle). It sounds like I should have given them another try. I have a Springfield gov. model, Buckmaster, and two Leupold's. They all work great for me but the cost was much more. The Springfield alone was 6 times the banner. I have it on my Colt accurized 223. I'm very careful with this combo, probably to careful. I end up taking a less expensive rifle out because I don't want to mess it up. Stupid isn't it. You would think at 61 I would know better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
