Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40

Does anyone have any experience with this particular scope? I've decided to try Bushnell for my next scope and in researching this looks like a good deal, makes me wonder what I'm missing. According to specs I found this scope, while a little heavier, has an inch more eye relief than any other in the line. Is this too good to be true?
I currently have a 3-9 on my 17hmr and was wanting more zoom to wring the accuracy out farther. I was going to get 1 for my 25-06 as well for deer.
So what am I missing?

IMO I think your giving away alot of FOV for a big game rifle. The 3x10 3200 has almost double the FOV and just .4" less eyerelief at 3.9" which on a 25-06 should be plenty. Now if you'd have said ground squirels or PDs I'd say it sounds like a nice rig.

Thanks AWS thats a good point I hadn't thought of enough. I'd like more magnification for at least one of my rifles, and don't want to be swapping scopes all over. Right now everything wears 3-9's. Maybe I'll put the 3-9 on the 25 and the 5-15 on the .17hmr. Its hard to see those tiny little holes clear out there, and I think more zoom would lend more accuracy at distance.
I've got one cheap Bushnell I want to swap out a nicer scope for, so I was going to buy two 5-15's ,now I don't know.

One more thought on the subject. A scope isn't for seeing little holes in the target or finding game(that's what spotting scopes are for) it's an aiming device. Clear optics and precise adjustments are more important than power. As far as power or magnification is concerened you only need enough for proper shot placement on a PD it's alot more than a deer at the same distance.

I find that there isn't that much differences in my groups between a VERY clear 4x and my KT-15x fixed scope at 300yds.

I have just bought a CZ 452 American 17HMR
and put a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x40mm AO.
It is Perfect, It's affordable, clear, And it take me only one shot to adjust it after the bore sighting,
The first shot was just 6 inch too low at 100 Meter, i put 24 klik up on the scope and : V-Bull...

I also have the 5-15x50mm Elite 3000 ( older one ) on the 257 Weatherby. I love the scope too, and for hunting the rainguard really make a difference when the odds are against us.
The 17 HMR have a different destiny, nice weather and groundhog only.....

The Crosshair on the 6-18x40 is just a bit larger, but still perfect for it's need.

With the Remington V-Max 17gr accuracy was around .75 MOA for 5 shot.
Often there's 4 hole inside .25 MOA...
I've had gooluck too with the CCI V-Max 17gr. .75moa
But the CCI TNT 17gr, : Horrible, 4 MOA
Hornady 17gr, around 1 moa 5 shot , but 3 hole inside 0.5 moa.
Winchester 17gr V-Max, perform good too, around .75moa 5 shot.
I've bougt a box of Federal 17gr, next time i'll try it...

I use the 5-15X40 with firefly for night hunting. I don't use the firefly but the thicker than normal crosshairs are the ticket. I think I'm going to put one on my next muzzleloader.

Here is my hornet with the 5-15X40 firefly.

I have the Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40 on my Beeman R-9 springer air rifle. It is a great scope and has held up well to the springer recoil, which to me speaks volumes as to its ruggedness and durability.

Thanks all for your responses.
So have any of you that have these noticed the difference in FOV? Compared against a 3-9 scope?
That 14 foot difference in FOV at low power AWS pointed out makes me wonder how it's working on a hunting rig?
I may just get a 5-15 for the hmr, and another 3-9 for the hunting highpower.

I have one that I swap onto my 22-250 in the summer to shoot prairie dogs. Nice scope. I have traded it around a bit on some of my rifles and works well. Actually it and the Leupold AR rings cost more than the Stevens 200.
