Since black Friday or so cabelas has had their buckmasters on sale. Started reading the new reviews and they have me backing up a little. I know someone on here had to pick up one. What the scoop on this scope?
My only complaint with the one I have (4.5-14 SF) is some difficulty seeing the CH in certain lighting conditions, but guess that is why they make sun shades.
I have bought a couple of Redfield scopes to try out otherwise would probably have more Nikons.
Interesting. I read a lot of reviews and most were positive.
I picked up 4-14 from Natchez for $198.00. I have a Burris Fulfield II 4-14 that I really like and wanted another. When this came up,..for $198 inc shipping? I will try it.
I have one and have had good luck with it. But apparently Cabelas seems to clearing out some out and people aren't liking what there getting. Just figured some on here popped on some and I could get the low down. Some have said something to the effect they were lower quality than the prostaff in the reviews of these particular ones.

The Buckmaster is now out of production. It was replaced by (and is basically the same as) the new "ProStaff 5" model. The Buckmaster was a step above the older "ProStaff" unit. Cabelas obviously purchased some old stock from Nikon and is selling them at a huge discount because they (Cabelas) have not had a Buckmaster model in stock for quite some time.
If I needed a scope I would jump all over these at that price. You won't beat them for the money spent. Just because they are out of production doesn't make them any less quality.
I have 2 Nikon Buckmaster scopes,(3-9x40 Niko-plex, and 4.5-14x40SF Mil-dot) Both of these scopes are real nice rigs, and I would jump on a couple more if I had any guns in need of a scope.
I work at Cabela's and we ordered a large run of Buckmasters in 3-9 and 4-12. I compared a 3-9 Buckmaster to a 3-9 Prostaff and the Buckmaster glass seemed better to my eyes. The day we set out the display our Nikon rep was in the store and I asked him about the Buckmaster. His response was that due to popular demand Nikon is bringing the Buckmaster back. He also said the glass was between the Prostaff and Prostaff 5.
