cabela's pineridge scopes on sale.

I've got a couple Pine Ridge scopes and they're okay for the money - about like an entry level Bushnell or Tasco. It'll work.

I've had very good luck with the 2 by 7 Pine Ridge scopes. They are a very good glass for 70 bucks. Put a bunch on mine and friends 22's and even a few on big game rifles. I like them better than the Bushnell's or Tasco's.

I looked at them earlier in the year because they seemed very reasonable on their tactical scopes, but then after some study, found too many people not satisfied with them so I decided not to purchase.

My .02 cents.

Let's see, spent all my money on the rifle I really wanted, now I'll save money for a nice scope and not shoot it for several months.....no wait....I'll buy an inexpensive scope so I can have some fun while I'm saving my pennies.....yeah, that sounds better!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I bought one last year. Got it for a good price, but it was not up to snuff for the clarity that I wanted. I sold it to a co-worker who mounted in on his .17 Hummer and is happy enough with it I suppose.

Being a scope whore, it takes some pretty good glass to make me happy. The Pineridge is not pretty good enough for me.

I have a couple cabelas pine ridge scopes one is 4x12 and the other is 6x18 and both have been good to me. I throw them in my truck and beat them against everything. Mine are very clear even the 6x18 cranked up. I dont see anything wrong with them. I dont know why you would spend more money when they work just fine.

From 1975-90 I sold for a major gun distributor, calling on independent dealers, and I sold Leaupold,Redfield,Tasco,Simmons
Burris,Nikon,Bushnell/B&L, and the USA made Weaver. I saw and heard alot and took back scopes that were bad right out of the box. That doesn't include the ones that were sent back after being used. I never heard of a Leupold or Burris problem, only sold the Nikon for a year, but they seem OK,the old weaver K series were tough but heavy. The others had problems in all price ranges. I would rather have a Rem 788, or a Savage 340 with a Leupold than a mod 700 w/a bargain scope, it'll let you down when you need it most.
Last summer I saw R&D guys from Savage at the range testing scopes to put in the package guns. The really taeted them, and shot them first on a 308, then a 300wsm,ond 7mmmag. They had a box full of rejects.I have a lot of respect for the job they did, that company is careful what they put out. I only use Leupold,& Burris,&Leupold repaired my 2x7 when I dropped it out of a tree, N/C Thats my experience
