Cabela's TAG Program?

I am hoping someone in the Predator Masters world has some experience with the TAGS Program offered by Cabela's. I spoke to them this morning and was impressed with the way they make a very complicated process go so smoothly....or so they promise.

I am interested in using this service, but sure would like to hear your input if you care to share your experience.

I know I'm almost too "late" for the 2014 Drawings, but I really would like to find the name of a good outfitter for Mule Deer and I'm hoping that the TAGS program has some answers.

PM please.

I am not overly familiar with the tags program, but I have alway had a hard time paying for something I can do my self. Especially something that really does not take much effort. I would suggest that you have way more options than you realize. I would offer you a to of help figuring out Colorado. A Colorado deer hunt DIY is not hard to figure out. Due to drawing for deer tags, and points require it would take just a couple years planning to draw a tag. Or Colorado has land owner vouchers you could buy and hunt next year. Vouchers go from 500 to 2000 dollars. Plus. It is just a matter of finding a tag.

If you really wanted to get out and hunt I would start to focus in on where you want to hunt and how. Do you want a later hunt with some rut activity snow and cold, early hunt with velvet and no snow, in between, high country big mountains and pines, lower country desert South west with canyon rocks and sage? All of that should be considered. I there are several good options for you. Also realize you can build points in Colorado for a deer tag while still hunting a lesser tag eventually drawing a good tag. Seriously shoot me a pm. I can help you figure out wy as well and Idaho as I am working on nr draws in those states as well!

The other thing is, you need to be realistic in what you expect. A good mule deer in 90 percent of this country is a solid 4x4 I the one 160s. Not the ones you always see in the magazines or on the TV. But in the time and money you put into a program and a guided hunt you could figure out a couple DIY hunts.

I understand the appeal of a guide and I could recommend a couple from
NW Colorado.

The 2014 drawing process is just getting started. There is a good chance you could get to hunt this fall. You would have plenty of time figure put and put. In for tags in CO WY ID and MT....

I agree with elks. I have been applying for some of the premium area hunts in several states for years. You can do it yourself, it just takes time to read the regulations and fill out the forms.
