i am very interested in making some hand calls for myself and hunting buddies or who knows may be some extra
but can not seem to find all the right supplies like mylar for reeds, plastic rod, or wedge and bridge material.also looking
for some vocies for closed reed calls.i made a call from deer antler and found that x-ray film
works great for reeds.thanks to rich for the great instructions in the tech section my call sounds great
hope someone can let me in on someplace to find this stuff.

The following search engine has been very good at finding things for me. www.google.com Just do a search on "polyester film", or "mylar sheets". It is the .010" and .014" thckness material that seems to work best in open reed calls. For metal reeds to fit enclosed reed calls, try Johnny Stewart or Ed Sceery company and ask for reed change kits.

For Mylar sheets go to Walmarts sewing section. They have several types of plastics for transfers or something. One kind is mylar. It is only $3 or $4 bucks for 5 sheets. For voices, hut products hutproducts.com sells the JC products predator reeds for the cheapest I have found. But you have to have a .5 inch diameter hole, or be very carefull. They also sound terrible. Fred Cronk sells the JC products reeds for a little more, and he hand tunes each one, so they sound great. These are the only ones I use in my calls. Email me and I will get you his address.
