Call Reviews

Hi, I was wondering if the call makers on this forum would be interested in a person doing some reviews on their calls. I am currently a college student so money is tight but am in need of some predator calls. I particularly want to hunt coyote, fox, and raccoon. I will test out a call and then take pictures of what I shot with the call in hand and write a detailed review on the forum for everyone to see. If I use it dozens of times with no results then I will post nothing and nobody on the forum will ever find out. Let me know what you all think.

I can sum it up for you very quickly Kyle. Your idea sounds like a poor attempt to obtain great calls for next to nothing. Every custom call that is offered for sale on Predator Masters is excellent quality. There is no comparison between a custom call and a production call. I understand that money is often tight for college students. I've graduated from college and have put my oldest daughter through college. However, my daughter and myself both worked while attending college as I'm a firm believer that hard work builds character and better prepares one for the future. If I had money left over to buy something I wanted, then I was fortunate. If not, I worked until I did. Personally I tend to dislike those that ask and/or expect handouts. (Which is the way I read your post). If you have time to hunt predators and write reviews, you have the time to hold down a job that will allow you to purchase custom calls.

Your comment of " If I use it dozens of times with no results then I will post nothing and nobody on the forum will ever find out." also wouldn't be an accurate reflection of the call's success. Often a call can be spot on, with the person using it making all the mistakes.

It's not my intention to sound overly negative and I'm sure you're a great guy. I just get aggravated when I believe that someone is trying to obtain something for free that others are willing to work for. There are numerous custom calls that you can purchase for $20.00 - $30.00. How about you save up to purchase one and see how that works for you.

Just saying.

I wasn't trying to get any kind of negativity started on this forum. But I figured since I don't have the money that I could do a service such as advertising their calls in trade for a way to get some calls and hunt over winter break. Asking for a handout with nothing in return from myself was not my intention.

I would just save up $20-$30 and buy a custom call, your not going to get a bad one and if you do most of the makes will make it right. If you dont call anything in its YOU not the CALL.

The call makers here get lots of reviews from people that buy and use their calls. I dont know that I have ever received a bad call from any of them. As stated if a call does not call a coyote it is not the calls fault. If someone cant afford to buy a call, how can they afford to buy rifle, ammo and gas to go out? Things are tough for everyone including the call makers.
