Calling in Mule Deer

Hey everyone. I thought I'd post my latest video here regarding archery hunting or even rifle I suppose. Everyone knows you call in the elk to get close, but fewer people know it also works on deer. These are 2 does on two occasions in the past 4 weeks I called in. Hopefully during the hunt, a buck won't be too far behind.

Give it a quick watch and subscribe to my channel if you like. I'm not selling anything. I just like making the videos.

I have called in a ton of deer/antelope over the eons of coyote calling.
Same when I go deer/antelope hunting I just sound like a baby in distress and they will show up.

I hunted with a guy for years, was adamant that deer and goats don't make sounds. Until we got 10 yards from a buck...

Having an unarmed goat challenge you from 40 yards is entertaining, until you pull the trigger and have to go to work.

Yah, we predator hunters know this, but it's funny to see how many people don't know it. I just thought I'd post it b/c it was decent video and as an addition to this board that isn't always focused on predator hunting. Glad you enjoyed....at least I hope you did.

One of my most memorable predator hunting stands was when I saw a herd of mulie does coming in to the call single file. The doe in the lead stopped about ten feet in front of me snorting and stamping her front feet. She was letting me know she was ready to fight. My thought was where's a camera? We have had some nice bucks come to the call too. A two pointer walked right next to the juniper tree my non calling hunting partner was sitting in once. He said he could have poked it with his rifle barrel it was so close.

nice video..
I always smile to myself when i hear people tell me that you can only call Elk during the rut..
lol

Sure, you keep thinking that. Then they wonder why they are eating tag soup and i fill my tag.

I have been calling in elk (bulls and cows) for years. The sounds work all year and they work amazingly well.

My father shot video of calling in Elk, and me shooting one. He's terrible with a camera and forgets to just watch in the view finder, kind of causes siezures with all the movement, but it showed the effectiveness of it.

You are so right about how well calling works.
