They still get hungry and rabbit's still scream in February just like they did in October, well at least the ones inside my FX5 do anyway. And that doesn't even take into account the much higher percentage of coyotes that don't even breed.

Tim is right they have to eat and in fact I believe in the winter they must eat more so it is never a bad thing to sound like an easy meal. But I have had awesome luck with female interigation howls and pup in distress calls also this time of year. Each coyote is different and may respond to one or more of these sounds where the next yote isnt bitting on any of the sounds. But #1 priority is the animal has to eat frequently and Tim made a great point the mating season is really short and some animals may be early or late so trying just to key in on mating season only type of sounds will limit your success IMO.
