Camo at Night?

Me and a buddy of mine have been arguing over this. He believes that you should deck out in camo just as much as you do during the day for night time hunting. I'm of the belief that it really doesn't matter and I just wear normal clothes instead of camo while night hunting. What do most of you prefer to do? That friend of mine has even gone to the extent of wearing his ghillie suit at night which I think is completely ridiculous. We are referring to this for mainly coyotes, bobcats and sometimes hog hunting

I don't ever wear camo at night. Walk out and look back at your buddy who is wearing camo. The lighter shades in the pattern literally glow at night if there is any moon.

Coyotes don't see color like we do. They see everything in shades of blue and yellow. They see white very well but don't see orange very well. So even during the day, coyote hunters probably get carried away with camo. The part that gets difficult is what happens to a coyote's eyesight at night. They surely can't see colors better at night, so it probably is even less important. The key as it always has been and always will be for coyote hunting is not to move when they are looking at you. Now, I have no idea about bobcats or hogs. Like everyone else, my warm winter gear is camo so that is what I wear.

coyote brown fades in nice in all night scenario backgrounds IMO...…..Good Luck!!!!!!!

Like everyone else we wear camo at night becuase that's what our hunting clothes are, but I don't think it matters. Plain black might be the best?
My question is what do you do when the snow turns everything white? My white camo is going to reflect a LOT of light off my scope and phone screen, yet anything dark is going to be a big blob on a white hill if there is any moon at all??

I think that black is too dark, it makes you blacker than your background and you will stand out if that makes any sense.
I wear dark green and dark brown.
We don't have enough snow down here to have to worry about.

I wear white when snow is on the ground. Darker colors seem to stand out at a distance against an all white background, even at night. If using vegetation or structures as background cover, darker colors blend in better.

I always work to reduce/eliminate any artificial light reflecting on me or my gear and it becomes even more important when hunting in snow.

I have seen this asked numerous times and the answer seems obvious to me.

You have to wear something so why create a delima about it? Throw on your appropriate camo and head for the woods. Nine times out of ten there is something in one of your camo pockets you might need out in the field and you forgot it because you changed your routine.

Also your confidence level will be much higher when you are sitting there on a full moon night with your sunglasses on.
