Camo for an ar?

I live in North Dakota and now we have a ton of snow everything is white mostly. What would be a good all around camo for snow or when there's not snow? Just thinking when there's snow that a black rifle might just stick out like a sore thumb. What's your thoughts on this I'm thinking about maybe having two setups one for snow and one for no snow or is there a good universal camo that would look good and work for both conditions?

Go to your local horse supply store(Fleet Farm, Tractor Supply, etc) and get a couple of rolls of white "vet wrap".

Here is a picture of a "black rifle" wrapped, but if you were to camo it in whatever brown/green/gray pattern you like, for the snow months wrap it in white wrap, it will look even better than the black rifle in this picture. And the added value of the wrap is it is warmer to handle than hands or even gloves on aluminum.

X3 on the wrap. I just zip tie a piece of white t-shirt to my handguard and buttstock when it's snowy. The vet wrap looks nicer than my hillbilly snow camo.

They make camo wrap in all sorts of colors. Search eBay and u can buy it for a buck or two per roll. And a black gun sticks out like a sore thumb under any conditions.

Not at night. Lol

I love Mossy Oak Brush camo for coyote hunting. It blends in perfectly with prairie grass when everything is tan in the fall and still works well in winter when the fields aren't completely white. Multicam is my other favorite year round since it has greens, browns, and some white. You could get the patterns hydrodipped or Cerakoted. Another simple option is to Cerakote the entire rifle FDE and use white vet wrap in the winter.

Just don't like how the vet wrap works out on the receivers. Might just paint it fde and use the vet wrap if we have a lot of snow for the front half and the scope. The receiver is just so hard to get cover up with the vet wrap.

Yup, that is why I suggested getting it camoed for non-snow hunting periods, and just wrap what you can easily wrap with white vet wrap, when it snows. In my picture the black receiver really sticks out, but if it was a FDE based camo pattern, it would blend in with winter stubble much better.

It's ok if the whole thing isn't white. I just wrap the front half. I figure most of the back isn't really visible too much. By the time they are close enough to notice my black receivers they are dead.

It's Cerakote and it's a 6X6.8 BHW barrel.
