Camo Wrap

I'm trying to decide what would be the best way too wrap my rifle. I'm eyeing McNett wrap does this stuff work good and not start sagging or coming unwound ? I want something that'll stick good (but NO tapes)

I'm using Camo Form, made by McNett. I bought it from Wing Supply, on sale it was about $3.00 per roll. One roll is supposed to be enough to cover one rifle. It is 2" wide and 144" long. It is a heavy duty self-cling wrap that sticks to itself, not the gun. It has been on my rifle for over a year now and it is just as tight as the day I put it on. A strand or two might have unravelled for an inch or so, but just cut it off. That has not been a problem for me.
It is available in six patterns but I think WingSupply only offered it in ARMY Digital.
I ordered two rolls and I wish I'd bought more. The cheap price worried me, but IMO this wrap is VERY good. It is removable and reusable.

Update..I just checked WS, they don't have the digital pattern in the clearance section any longer, guess they sold out. I knew I should have ordered more! It's now $13.00 for other patterns. You might find it cheaper somewhere else.

Thanks... It sounded like a good product. I just wondered about it unwraveling or possibly leaving resedue marks on my rifle or something.. I just put a bid in on E-Bay on some.. I'll sure give it a try... Thankyou for your Info.

Thanks

McNett Camo-form won't leave any residue. I just unwrapped my air rifle after having it wrapped butt to muzzle for 2 years and there was nothing left behind on the barrel or stock.

I'm not sure what would happen if you got it soaking wet, though. I'd be concerned whether it's water-proof or not.

If you want the end to stay tight, try putting a couple of tight rubber bands around it. I used these stow bands for packing parachutes because I have a giant bag of them, but any good gum rubber band should work.

See what I did there?

when its humid it gets sticky, and will leave residue on the gun. I had it on for about a year and my gun was covered in sticky residue when i took it off. I would paint it.

I just bought this Savage model 12 Stainless fluted barrel and really like too keep it like it is, but would like to tone down the glare while using it in the field.. I really don't want too change the Laminated stock either.. Just want too have a field rifle but unwrap the wrap if I take it too the range.. I figure this wrap might be the answere.... Thanks for all the info.

Hmm. It's pretty humid here and I didn't see any residue.

Before and after about 2 years:

All I did was wipe the fingerprints off with a slightly oily cloth, took about 2 minutes.

That was the McNett Camo-form tape, though, I can't say how other brands may react.

Some of the other "tapes" or "wraps" are just medical grade Coban, a self cling wrap that is not easily reusable and will drift and bunch up over time. Vet wrap is an example of Coban. It works fine and is cheap enough when on sale, but don't expect to take it off several times or wash and reuse it like you can with Mcnett. Be aware that when using any wrap you must take it off immediately at the end of the day if it gets wet.

Took McNett off of mine after about a year, left a slight amount of residue but what bothered me and why I took it off was because it was getting pretty sticky and left residue on my hands after handling the gun.
