Those of you with silencers, what is your favorite can(s) and why? Which combos have sounded the most quiet?
In .30 cal, my Specwar 7.62 is definitely the most quiet on all guns I've shot it on. It does have lots of back pressure and is very gassy on autos. I broke the timing arm retaining pin on my Browning Bar Safari on the first test shot before adjusting the gas block. It's very heavy, so I use it mainly for target/bench shooting. My Silencerco Harvester is probably my favorite, but is a little louder on everything. Sounds good on my AR in .204 with minimal blowback. Probably due to the large aperture. It has a higher pitched crack on larger calibers, but is less than half the weight of my Specwar.
In 5.56, my Liberty Triumph takes the cake. Most quiet can I've heard on an AR and sub cal rifles. No complaints.
In pistol, the Ti-rant 9 is my favorite. The Liberty Mystic is much more versatile, but has first round pop. The Ti-rant on a Glock 17 with 158 grain .38 Berrys Bullets loaded in 9mm (1/1000 diameter difference in size) with 3.1gr Unique is honestly very close to a .22lr Ruger 22/45 Lite with AAC Element 2. Unbelievably quiet.
For rimfire, the Silencerco Sparrow is my favorite. Not quite as quiet as the Element 2 on my pistol, but so much easier to clean. On a rifle it really shines. Very quiet up to the HMR I tried it on and very easy to clean.
How about you guys? Most online reviews are videos or a little biased. I always like hearing real world experience.
