Canik TP9

Did I buy a junker?? I have been seeing the Canik pistols around for some time but never gave them a lot of thought. Last gunshow a guy tried to trade me one and I declined his offer. Nothing against the pistol, we were just to far apart on a trade deal. I did a little reading and seems they are a pretty decent pistol for the money. The reviews were actually really impressive. I felt I got a decent deal so I bought it. Came in a decent plastic case with a kydex holster and an extra mag. It also had the extra back strap and a cleaning rod and brush. And it didn't break the bank. Now if it just performs.

I was just curious if any of you have shot or own one of these? How do you like it?

Great Guns! I've had one for several years. They use to be cheap, but their reputation has caught up with them and they aren't cheap anymore.....

First off, I'm no pistolero. But I did take the Canik out this morning and ran 50 rounds through it. I must say, I was impressed. I actually shot good groups and they actually went where they were supposed to go. Granted I was only shooting 10yds but I put the majority of those 50 rounds in a group the size of a Skoal lid and in the bull. I was planning on seeing me shooting low and left like I usually do with a Glock but not with this pistol. The slide seems smooth, not a bad trigger at all and the reset is super short. After 50 rounds the only negative I have is wishing I had brought more ammo. For a sub $400 pistol, as of now, I have no complaints.
