cannelure vs no cannelure?

I'm looking to purchase 55gr Hornady Z max for 223rem and they have a cannelure. I'm currently shooting 55gr V max without cannelure and get good accuracy.

do you guys notice any accuracy differences 100-300yards with cannelure vs non cannelure bullets?

There maybe a slight tendency for the cannalure to help hold the core in the jacket on the 55sp, but that is sheer conjecture on my part...they are great coyote bullets...very accurate also.

Anyone else notice no issues with cannelure vs non cannelure? Looking to buy 500rds of V max but they have a cannelure and i get amazing accuracy from non cannelure.

It makes no difference in my experience. I don't crimp on any of my VMAX loadings. In 223/556 only the M16 FMJ fodder gets that treatment.

Thanks Greg.

I don't crimp either but something kept telling me that a cannelure would effect accuracy. I just didn't want to buy 500 of these and find out they don't shoot well.
