I think I've seen the ad your talking about and if so it looks like junk to me, first of all anything above 12 power you will need a tripod to hold steady enough to examine anything your looking at. Second zoom or variable power binos don't really have a good rep from any mfg. to many moving parts I guess.
I have used 3 or 4 different brands and types and now only have Leupold 10x28 compacts people say the compacts won't pick up enough light but I can see through them (in detail)long after shooting light has gone. My buddy uses those savworsky's (I can't spell or pronounce them much less afford them) and they are very nice, they just don't fit my needs, a full size bino will not be around my neck but my leupold compacts are almost always there.
Save your money and buy quality the first time. Another option is Leupolds new spotting scopes they have a 10-20 power variable and a 15-30 power, the 10-20's are very compact and can be worn around your neck and used like bino's but if you want to study something you can mount on a tripod and zoom to 20 power, that should be plenty of power for most needs when your looking through quality glass. Price runs about $300.00 for the 10-20's.
Sorry for the rambling, hope it helps.
