Anyone out there have any great recommendations for an electric case trimmer?? I need to trim over 1000 17 Rems, and other calibers as well. Does any one make one that bevels case mouth ID and OD at the same time as the trimming? Thank you, Bob

RCBS, makes a 3 way cutter that trims to length, Chamfer's the inside of the necks and Deburrs the out side all in one step, They do take some time to get adjusted right but when they are set you never have to mess with them again......

If you put a few more $$ with it you can get the best there is, the Giraud trimmer. It's the bee's knees

Giraud Trimmer

I've got one for doing my .223 cases by the thousands and it's the best thing since slice bread, if I gave up one or the other I'd live without bread

Trimming cases is crazy fast now, you will get hundreds per hour and it does bevel the inside and outside while it's trimming the OAL, he also uses a carbide cutter...if you decide to go with the Gracey you still want to purchase his blade upgrade for your cutter but I would strongly recommend you order the Giraud instead...it's that good.

Dillon makes a good power trimmer.
I know a guy with one for sale, but you don't want to ship half way across the country.

Its not electric...but its fast and one of the best. Wilson Ultimate case trimmer. Get it at Sinclair Inter. Brent

I have an RCBS trimmer too, but mine is a manualmatic...

As mentioned above, the three way cutters RCBS makes for these trimmers are excellent and do save time. I bought one for 22 caliber, 25, and 7mm.
You might want to give one a try. But, as someone mentioned, they do take some time getting them adjusted properly. Once adjusted, they work great.

This. Have the 50BMG, .308 and .223 case holders. 50BMG is a different blade than the for the other calibers.

Each blade has three cutting heads. You won't live long enough to cut the amount of brass it takes to dull those blades.

Get one you won't regret it.

I have a Gracey, and I think its great, trimmed 1000's and works great. Contacted Darrel and he made special dies so I can trim neck sized brass that is once fired in my chamber. Works for me. I actually trim fired case before neck sizing, as I use a Progressive.

My dad and I purchased a Gracey a few years ago. We purchased the one without the motor and picked one up from Grainer. If this is something you are interested in I can find out which motor we used. It looks exactly the same as the one they use. Heck, they probably buy them grom Grainger too. Don't remember the savings but it was cheaper. It seems to be pretty trim cases pretty darn quick but I have anything to compare it to though.

I take my RCBS case trimmer, remove crank handle replace with an allen screw of appropriate size, chuck up a allen driver in my rechargable drill and go after 'em. It works great and its pretty quick.

that is a great idea

Takes my new $62 RCBS case trimmer and a $1 bit plus a rechargable drill I already have and make for a decent powered trimmer. I have two case trimmers and have used one this way for years.

I have used this method as well, then I switched to the RCBS powered trimmer but when you are doing 1K cases at a time that method stinks. It works but it's very time consuming and tiring, I would finish about 300 cases and be worn out. With the Giraud trimmer you can easily do 1k cases in the same length of time you could do 200 with a RCBS unit with a drill. I still use my RCBS for low volume work but for high volume stuff it didn't cut it.

I have that same trimmer, but have always trimmed the old fashion way, cranking the handle by hand. I'll have to give your method a try. I know after trimming a pile of cases, my arm feels like it will drop off.

I do the same thing with my Forster only I double nut the threaded part and use a half inch nut driver in my cordless.
