Case Turner building Project

Raidman

I have been working for sometime building a case turner, this after swearing I would never turn cases again

Basically what I did was Buy a gear motor that runs 120 RPM, puts out 40 inch pounds of torque, changed the capacitor to the non working side, Built a mounting board, removed the shaft and gear, turned the shaft down, cut a 3/8 - 24 thread on it, screwed on a drill chuck and installed a Linemaster foot switch so I could work hands free.

I will be able to use this for a lot of other things. Sorry the pictures are not better quality.

Once a neck turner, always a neck turner. And there's no "turning" back now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Soon you'll be standing at traffic intersections with a billboard that reads "Will neck turn cases for food".

You'll get vanity plates for your car that say "NKTRN4U".

Your social life will go down hill. You'll start cruising the internet for neck turning chat rooms.

You'll register on a "On line" dating site called "NeckTurnMatch.com and ask innocent women, "Do you turn all the way on the first date?".

It's all over dude, it's just a matter of time!

What is the app. cost in that Raidman. It looks well thought out. I wanted to do one but have no idea how to do it. 300+ for a built one seems steep.

Catshooter, that was funny, and so true.

Very nice! You can also use the Lee case trimmers with that drive system very nicely. I prefer the Lee trimmer and use them instead of the Forster below.

Always more than one way to skin a cat. For about $100 you can buy a Forster case trimmer and a Forster neck turning attachment. I made the piece right above the crank handle and bolted it on using a hex-head bolt so that a 7/16" nut driver in my cordless drill drives it rather than turning the crank. If you wanted to use only the power driver, you could just remove the crank and replace the screw holding it w/hex head bolt. As altered, mine works either by hand or power driven.

Just something else to think about.
