Cass Creek Predator call

Stalker

ok, so I took the cheap way out to get started with. I figured using this call would help me to understand and learn how to use mouth calls. Anyone familiar with this caller? Does it actually work? I noticed there is a plug in for an external speaker, but haven't found one that works yet. Best I get is a very soft sound. Thanks for any help and info. I've done a lot of surfing the net and this place is by far the very best!

The Cass Creek call is quite nice.I like the sounds and with the extra speaker it is plenty loud if you use it with hand calls like I do.I think you can get the extra speaker at Gamecalls.netYou can`t go wrong for the price of the whole setup.I just wish I could figure out how to use a remote with mine.Good luck YC

So far the Cass Creek Predator Caller has assisted me calling in two Bobcats! I say assisted, because when I actually saw both cats, I was hand calling by then. I agree, it's not loud enough to really get out there, so I use mine to start my sets with. After I while, I switch to a loud rabbit hand call. Once I saw the second cat, I switched back to the Cass Creek to bring it within 100 feet of me before my patience ran out. I didn't want it any closer anyway, had to do a fair amount of sewing.

I am waiting for the amplified speaker I ordered for it. I'll see how it is then.

I did open up the speaker grill like the post indicated last month. I wish I didn't though, I kind of butchered it. However, it still works!

well, you heard the good, now for the bad, I did find that the caller speaker from some stewart calls does fit the cass creek unit, BUT I am not sure of the temp or over all weather you have tried the unit in, but I was out calling and had just gotten out into the middle of nowhere started to call and the caller started cracking and breaking up really bad, well, I thought I had possibly left it on and the batteries were weak so after getting out the brand new ones I carry with me (always the boy scout) it was still doing it, i headed back to the vehicle and to my preymaster. Needless to say that it has done this a couple times since but only when extremely cold out. I do like the caller in general but now after having ruined that hunt will not depend on it again. but it usually does end up in the vehicle JUST IN CASE.

I haven`t had any problems with my Cass Creek and cold wheather yet.But I do whare the call on my belt under my coat. Then I just have the extra speaker exposed to the wheather and feel for the button I want under my coat.Next time I will keep the call outside to see if the cold effects it.

I just received my external speaker for the Cass Creek today. I hope I can get away and try it out this weekend! I'll let you know the details...

Now for the cold weather issue.

I live at a very high altitude. My house is just shy of 7000 MSL, so it get's darned cold. The morning I shot the second bobcat, the temperature was reported to be an honest ten below. I was using the call from sun up to mid morning with no problems. I also carry the call in my jacket, but when I'm using it, the call is usually on the ground, in the vicinity of one of my shooting stick legs. So it does get cold.

I do feel that the sound quality, does degrade in the cold, but I still give the call partial credit for both bobcats.

i just recieved mine yesterday and i'm very happy with it but i'm gonna order the external speaker. sound awesome i hope it does the job!!!!!!!
