Castbulletdamage

You're kidding, right??? Absolutely none!!! Harry Pope used the same barrel & brass case to fire over 40,000 rnds. Yes you can lead a barrel if you try to shoot cast bullets at jacketed bullet velocity's but that can be removed & you start shooting again so that is no more "damaging" than copper or powder fouling. Use cast bullets as they are designed to be used & you'll have NO trouble & be able to shot a LOT more for the same $. There is reams of helpful cast bullet shooting info out there.
Cheers

I've shot a few cast bullets in my time.

Lead won't hurt your barrel unless you get a bullet stuck in it and then fire another shot. That will cause a bump!!

Throat erosion is about all you need to worry about and that may happen around 3500-4000 rounds.

Wondered where I'd put my first post. I compete in the cast bullet matches with a .30BR. It runs a 200 grain cast at 1900-2000 fps and gives 5 shot groups @ .5" or less at 100 yards if the wind is read correctly
