Caught a badger

I was tryin to get some stuff done last night, and the neighbor lady called in a "flat panic". She had a badger in her yard, and was afraid it would kill her geese, or her little dog. So I loaded two dogs and went over there.
When I got there I turned out, and the badger had gone down a hole. I let the dogs dig for a few mins, and pulled them back.
I set a 330 over the hole,(here it is legal on private ground with landowner consent). I told the lady to keep her dog in the house, and we would have a dead badger in the morn. It was the best I could do for her. Just as I was leavin, Trapper2 called me, we got a chuckle out of me usin a beaver trap on a badger. Here's the results.

I could have used a 220, but with a badger you never know how big they will be.

First off Emterriers, Whats the story with that badger, no "Bs".
I have killed about 300 of them, and trying to pull one out of a hole is a "loss leader". Not sayin it can't be done, but most times they stick there claws into the hard pan, and you end up with a stuck badger, If they are head down, and a dog gets a leg, the dog comes out with just a leg.My dogs have pulled many wounded, or dead ones, but never a live uninjured one.Faced up in a hole, the badger has the upper hand over the dog,If your dog killed that badger below ground, thats one [beeep] of a dog.
Gary Its not that far of a drive,If you wanna book a hunt, just call or pm. We have killed some real "Booners" this summer, and the good badger huntin is just startin.
The rest of this month and into next, will be the best badger huntin of the year.
As for the "hole dogs", I'm not sold on them yet,I hate to get a dog just to kill it.I got 12 dogs right now, can't justify a hole dog yet.As much as I like them, and as useful as one would be.For now I'll just have to make due.

As I said, I think it can be done, I just haven't seen it yet.The dogs need to kill the badger, before they can pull it out.
I'm just in a spot that I have a pen full of dogs, and kill a pile of badgers, without havin to get a few hole dogs.
I'm just not sure yet that I could increase my numbers of badger kills, enough to justify a few more dogs.
I'm open to the idea, just not in a rush.
If I saw a pair of "hole dogs" kill a badger below ground, I would probly buy them on the spot, just haven't seen it yet.

duane@ssu;he killed it but he didn't kill it underground. if you look closely the dog has busted the bottom jaw on the badger(no bottom teeth). he did draw this one and finish him outside the hole.here is another pic of one caught in a bean field the old dog finished him the pups held him down.lol
