I could not get any of the CCI loads to shoot good at all out of my current 22 mag.

My bud ran some out of his Winny 22 mag cuz I gave him the rest of mine. They shot mediocre out of his.

The TNT is a very frangible bullet. It does not penetrate deeply. Good for whacking crows and such that you don't want to save. Messy on small fur bearing critters. Made a mess of the porcupine he shot, anyway. I would not use one them coyote/fox.

If you want something that penetrates deeply for larger small game, and imparts a good amount of shock, try the Federal 50gr JHPs....

I've got some of the cci in waiting to get to. I can tell you the Winchester 45gr sp don't shoot worth s crap outta mine. I've been burning them up at anything I can and I bought 250 of them.

My winchester 22 mag shoots the regular cci maxi mag and the winchester super x 40 grain jhp with great accuracy. Ive tried the winchester 45 grain dynapoint with not near as good accuracy.

One day, just for the heck of it, I shot a bunch of different 22mag. ammo to see what the differences looked like on paper. CCI TNT was not one of them, but I have shot it before and none of my 22mags like it. Anyway, here's the target. the bullseyes measure 1 1/8", the rifle was a Sako Quad and the scope a 2-7X32 Browning (Bushnell) set at 7x.

Yea,,, they really are the one everything else is judged by, ain't they?
Partly because they've been around for so long, but mostly because they just plain work IMO.

Hopefully I'll get lucky and be able to do a little more "testing" with em come Cat season.

Have you tried the 50gr Federals?
They seem to have a pretty good track record "punchwise".
If I was gonna hunt Coyotes with a 22Mag that would be the one I'd look to.
Fortunatly I only shoot Coon and Cats with mine cause I'd hate to think about switching.
Luck

I use the TNT's on gophers and prairie dogs only. As far as that stuff goes, they got the name right. It is devastating on them.

Im lookin for the federal 50 grains but i cant find em any where. I bought some cci maxi mag hollow points today just cause i couldnt find the federals and my gun loves em. The winchester jhp and the cci maxi mag shoot well. im still lookin for the cci tnt too.

Thought you were looking for "more knock down"?
A frangible bullet like the TNT would be the last thing I'd use if "more knock down" were my goal, but you do as you like.
I'm out.
