cci maxi mag 40gr hp

I tried them in my Marlin and both accuracy and performance wise they sucked. I had too many groundhogs make it back into the hole. Winchester 40gr hp eliminated that problem. I won't use any thing else.

They might be a little bit overkill for the coyotes. Probably make big ole holes, blood and guts everywhere, missing parts and pieces, just very, very messy in general..
Should work great for the other critters on your list though./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I use the CCI+Vs in my cz and it loves them. It will shoot them under an inch at 100 all day long. As for yotes I have had complete pass throughs inside of 100. Shot 5 this yr with the load and really like it. HAPPY HUNTING

Never cared much for CCI in .22 Mag. I have been shooting a .22 mag for 47 years now. I have found the Federal Premium 30 gr. v-max to be very accurate and effective. Just remember to shoot yotes in the head or they WILL run off and unless they are in a very wide open place, they will be GONE!

I have a Marlin bolt .22 mag, and the CCI 40gr Maxi Mags actually do quite well. I have tried pretty much everything I can find, including various stuff from Remington and Federal, and like the Maxi Mags better. I have only shot one coyote with it, and it wasn't a head shot, and that coyote dropped where it stood and bled out. My daughter and I have taken 3 javelina with them, and all were one-shot kills.

However, as far as accuracy goes, the best I have found (for my particular rifle) is the CCI Maxi Mag TNT (30gr). I have shot a few jackrabbits with them, and they always bleed like crazy!

Ya gotta love it. I'm undecided. Give it a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif Or a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Or a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif. I don't see the one I want to give it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i mainly want to use it on fox(red and grey) and bobcat.what rounds wont blow a big hole on a fox 5-100 yards, but can kill a cat at the same distance again without blowing a big hole out of it.

hunter22mag, you want to shoot the Rem 33gr. V-max best varmint fur friendly 22 mag load out there right now, flat shooting and hard hitting! Ive chronographed them at over 2,100+fps. Its all I shoot im my little Ruger 20" barrel and in my VMBZ I shoot the Supremes and the V-maxs. I like the new V-max 30gr. loadings but havent tried them on varmints yet. ~~Marco

You will have to try and see what groups well in your gun, 22 mags like what they like.

The 40g Win HP is a true jacketed bullet, works very well on yotes, usually 75 yards and under. I have killed one at about the 125 yard mark, straight on shot...got lucky.

The Win Supreme is not for larger varmints. I have not found that they will reliably kill a wild ferel cat when shot through the slats.

I have had feed problems with all CCI .22 mag ammo.
I now use Remington 40 gr SP with great results in performance and accuracy.

I must be lucky as both the 40gr JHP CCI Maxi Mags and the Win 40 gr JHP shoot the same from my Henry Lever and both knock the snot out of a fox or ground hog at 100 yrds.

mine will shoot 40 grain jhp, jsp, and psp and i still can hit a dime @ 50 yards.will look for the 33 v-max marco.im just looking for a good round.

I bought a Winchester 9422mag when they first came out and still have it. It shoots the cci maxi mag 40gr hp and Winchester 40 grain hp the best. I've killed raccoon, coyote and other pest with the cci load and it works well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Doc

I'd save the massive .22 mag round for big African game. A pea shooter using 20 grain soft pointed navy beans should be plenty for the yotes.

i dont have a 17.if that is what you are talking about 250.i have a marlin 25m 22.magnum,and a ruger 10/22.and a marlin 30/30.(thought about the accelarator loads but my 30/30 is a nose to primer gun!DANGER. i want to kill fox with a 22.mag because i injoy the challenge.but i also want to get a red, grey fox, coyote and bobcat mounted.thats why i was looking for the right bullet.
