Chicken distress ???

I was reading a letter from a member that I sold some calls to a couple of years ago. He was very pleased with the calls and mentioned that he could even do a chicken distress. Now I pride myself on all the different things I can make a call do, but I don't know how to do a chicken distress. Could some one explain this to me. If some one could post a sound clip, I could probable figure it out on my own. Any help would be appreciated. Dale

well did you ever have a chicken on a string and then poke at it to see what for sound it makes. well lets try buwawk, bauwk buc, buc, buc, now draw out those buwaks and make them scream a little bit. oh yeah i have some calls that do the funky chicken too. sorry i cant help with a sound clip.

I teach my kids it all the time. Actually really easy to do on a closed reed call. It's tic, tic, tic...tic-ock. Open reed is whole different harder. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

George, that would HAVE to be a video clip. What I wouldn't give to see you dancing around making that noise /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Maybe that will be the next auction. That video would go for ALOT /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sorry, just had to do it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I don't have any idea how to get a chicken distress sound but I would like to know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

its easy you just pull its tail feathers. most chickens will do a distress but some will just peck you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
OK now i got that out of my system /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would use a J frame or LA style toneboard in a closed reed, double reed with a low and high pitched double reed. the rest is up to the caller to get the sequence down so that it sounds like a chicken.
