been using this choke tube for turkey with good success(60 to 70 yds) w/ standard turkey loads. just wondered if anyone had tried this tube with coyote loads and what their experience with them was. any negative effects on the choke tube?

Thanks

I like the Jellyhead and have often recommended it for a good inexpensive choke tube. I don't know about 70 yard shots... but anyway for coyote loads up to lead number four buckshot the Jellyhead should do pretty well. Point being only patterning can tell you how well.

john,
i've been using 2 3/4 winchester supreme double x magnum #5 in my 11-87 with the jellyhead with very good results. i don't make it a practice of shooting 60 to 70 yards but i have had a couple hang up and the camera don't lie. the first time i didn't realize that the turkey was that far. maybe lucky. the last time i said "he's too far" and my buddy said"i've seen what that gun will do" drt

gc.... what about 00? will that damage an inexpensive choke? what other chokes do you recommend for coyotes? what load do you use and what is the effective range?

Thanks

gc,

just saw the thread on your test please disregard ????

tested a couple of loads today. the 3" #4BK vs 2 3/4 00.

no contest ....4BK hands down with 20 hits @40 yards.

00 3 hits @40 yards.looks like 4BK @ 40 for me.

so much for 60 to 70 yards with this set up.
