Chris Pratt Hates Coyotes

For those who dont know him, he was the star in the recent movie Gaurdians of the galaxy. He is a gun owner and apparently, much like all of us, Hates coyotes.

Chris Pratt likes guns, and he doesn't like coyotes. Which is bad news for coyotes.

“I do a lot of predator hunting, farm varmints, out in Wyoming," he told the December issue of GQ magazine. "Oh, my God. Get a farmer that’s just got too many and he’s like, ‘F**kin’ kill as many as you want.’”

Who hates coyotes? I think the eastern coyote is a fascinating animal, and a very formidable foe, that I respect more than a lot of people I know...
As for killing them, they are an invasive species up here and the farmers hate them, some one has to kill them it might as well be someone like me that wants them to not suffer...They are one of Gods creatures...

I really enjoy coyotes, a lot. Heck, anymore, I go out to play with them with my camera at least as much as I do with a rifle. Can't imagine hating them? Never heard of Chris Pratt or the movie he was in. But I hope he was misquoted. No reason to hate coyotes.

It's possible the thread starter was using the word "hate" in oxymoronic fashion. Considering that while many of us may not hate coyotes we all do love to kill them.

Yea, I love having coyotes around, crazy as that might sound. They are an awesome animal and the joy I get from hunting them outweighs any bad they might do, in my mind at least. Of course, I don't own livestock that could fall to them, and I do know they take deer and other species. That can make a difference to ranchers and farmers who suffer loses because of them. Still, I love them and respect them.

While I have hunted coyotes most of my life, I was taught to respect them and their abilities to survive.
Yes, I have killed too many to count.
But whether as a child, or as an adult...it's the thrill of seeing one that has always gotten my adrenaline working overtime.
I really could care less how many I kill.
For me, it's that thrill, and the challenge of being able to fool one into coming in to the call.

As for Chris Pratt...
I know who he is. But, other then Guardians of the Galaxy (which I haven't seen), I can't honestly name any other movie he's been in.
But, the fact that he is willing to admit to liking guns, and hunting, makes me have a little more respect for him than I do for a lot of today's celebs.

What Chris Pratt thinks or doesn't think about anything is of no interest to me. I surely don't hate coyotes but I go to a lot of trouble to thin them out as best I can. I respect their survivor traits, and I do love to hunt them, but I can't say that I love them. Watching them kill a fawn, a calf, or a domestic pet eliminates any chance of my loving them. They show their victims no sympathy, and I show them no sympathy. Still, I strive for humane shots and quick kills.

I'm of the same philosophy as many here. I have no "hate" for coyotes. It is quite the opposite in that I have a deep admiration and respect for them. Yes I hunt them and I'll continue to hunt them. I get a very deep satisfaction from it because I consider them a formidable foe also as previously stated.

I have no idea who the actor is but I have to agree with Will a bit that it's uncommon for most Hollywood types to admit they are hunters of any sort and that might be a reason to respect him a tad more.

So it's an arguement over semantics. Who cares. It's nice to hear someone from Hollywood talk about hunting and killing with a gun. That's what's important from what this goon says.

I don't hate them.. I don't love them either.. I love to hunt them. They are a challenge that i enjoy the game, like the Road runner and Coyote.
But, as for the actor, he seems like a nice guy, i like his movies, and it seems to me that he has some rancher time..
The Rancher i just bought 3 steers from has a very simular mood about them.
As do the ranchers that are Navajo's that have sheep. They have a very few choice words for them as well.
It guess it just really depends on your interactions with them. It just sounds to me like he has spent some time around a sheep or cattle ranch that has had some losses. Good for him not being afraid to say.. I HUNT..

Its one thing if he said that he hunted Deer, Elk or other big game animals. You really don't get push back on that. Most of the push back i get from people when i say i hunt Coyotes is if i eat them, or why?

I feel that every Coyote i kill is considered a trophy!

They were here long before us and they will be here long after! They are true survivors.

**Who is Chris Pratt?

Sounds like the guy is a bit dramatic ... hate a coyote?

These things deserve nothing but respect. They adapt to us. They are intelligent and cunning. Not sure how you can hate them.

Have one kill a $1400 calf and you'll start to get the idea.

You are a tad light on your calf price ... but very good point. However this guy is a silver screen fox (cousin of the yote) and can afford to have the yotes chow down on a calf or two.

I recognize the guy ... off of Moneyball who the GM wanted but everyone was not in favor.

He is from MN ... probably had a brain freeze or two in his younger years.
