I friend of mine passed away and I found some bear claws he had so I put em on a necklace and they have been crackin alittle bit wonderin how you guys fix this. Also I was wantin to put mt lion, bobcat, coyote, wolf, fox, badger claws on there as well whats the best way to preserve them from cracking and make em look good as well?

Not sure I can help you but I do like the claw necklace. Have a buddy who has one from all the different animals/countries he's hunted in. Pretty cool!

Clear Fingernail Polish.

Applied it to a set of bear claws I put on a hatband in 1980 and they still look as good today, as the day I put them on there. (Hat don't look real special anymore! But the hatband still looks good.) Unfortunately, I don't have a clue what brand nail polish it was. But one of the new acrylics available today would probably stand up better yet.

I would like to have one good bear claw. Anyone have one fair size claw they want to sell or anything. I am not going to get the chance to get anything but the Black bear.

String them on thin wire and dip them in epoxy or clear varnish, so that the varnish also coats the inside of the drill holes. You may need to touch them up over the years on wear points, but it should help the cracking a lot.
