Cleaning a stainless steel tumbler

Hey guys I am getting some grime on my brass and a dull grey Corey after I use my stainless steel tumbler. Is there something I should be doing to clean it in between brass cleanings?

I had the same problem when using Hornady Unique case lube. I switched over to Hornady One Shot and the problem was solved. My pins are always clean and brass is bright. You may need to use very hot water and extra dish soap. Run a few cycles with no brass and dump the dirty water until its clean. I think I had to run two cleaning cycles to clean my cylinder and pins.

Well I cant be of much help to you then, I use dawn, lemishine, and a tad bit of car cleaner/wax with hot water and a good cold rinse when done and always have shiny clean brass. I do run a cycle of soap and water with just the pins every 10 runs or so.

Kooman, Schmidty is using the lanolin and liquid Heet to resize with. I haven't tried the car/ cleaner wax but use the dawn and lemishine with hot water. I rinse with cold water. They turn out fine. I'm like Kooman as I clean about every 8-10 tumblings . The gray color sounds like you are not using enough dawn. I try to rinse the pins and container well after each use.Surprised me how dirty the water was also. I would wash my container and pins and increase the dawn and see if that makes a change.

Ahh ok, I guess I'm not familiar with the lanolin/liquid heet process, thanks for the info. Originally Posted By: yotekiller47Kooman, Schmidty is using the lanolin and liquid Heet to resize with. how much dawn/lemishine/water are you putting in per batch of brass?

if the ratio is bad - too much lemi shine or too little dawn specifically - its common.
