cleaning patches

Pro Shot. You need to have several sizes, as to caliber, you need a snug fit, but not so snug that it flexes the rod into the sides of the barrel. I buy them by the thousand, and like the square ones.

Pro Shot. They have them in squares and round cotton flanel for differant calibers and if you can't get them local google PRO Shot.

Their cleaning rods and bore guides are real nice too. The rods have a small handle that clears the check weld/stock better than other brands so you are not flexing the rod.

I have also swithed to the Cooper Solvent II after seeing what left in the bore after it was squeeky clean with other top name cleaners.

How long does it take to cut 1000 patches each of 3 different sizes?

I usually wet the bore with a few HOPPES patches on an undersized jag.

I do my "pushin" with Pro-Shots, the run a hoppes patch with oil.

I see the pro-shots leave a string or two in the bore from time to time. Hence the hoppes patch last.

I like the pro-shots because they are more absorbent.

With a rolling cutter and table cover that your wife uses to cut patterns or patchwork quilt squares not very long, you can cut multiple layers at a time.
