Coast P7 flashlight

COYKILL

I have the Coast P7 flashlight but haven't tried hunting with it yet. It is a small bright flashlight and I ordered the scope mount for it. I ordered a red flip up filter this morning for it but it seems that some LED lights don't bother coyotes(kill lights). I know this one really scares deer. Anyone use this light with or without the filters?

My hunting partner has one. I used it last time we went out and I was impressed. It is very bright for its compact size. We took some transparent red wrapping paper and put it over the light and it makes a nice red tint. It still seemed bright enough to identify animals at any distance we can see here at night in wisconsin. I havent tried it without the filter.

Red Tail-light tape works well, but really lowered the light output of the weaker Coleman LED headlamp I used it on. MUCH lower powered light than what you have, but it was still able to light-up coyote eyes at 200 yards. I brought them in to about 75 yards before they circled, and it still pretty-much just lit-up their eyes.

I have the Coast V2 Tactical Power Chip Torch now, and will be using this decorative film I found in the Christmas wrapping stuff for a red filter. Just a couple of layers to give some color to the light, and it will still light-up the whole animal out to (conservative estimate)200+yards. I think that your torch should light them up a good bit farther out than that.

Hopefulling the red flip lens I ordered from Surefire isn't to restrictive. Thanks for the info. Good idea's so if the flip lens doesn't work I'll have a back up plan.

Hope I have better luck with mine. They do have a guarantee, though. EL made use of it I believe.
