Cold bore shot

SNAG THAT! QUICK!". turned a turd into a tack driver for him!

I also have two DPMS 18" AR15 SASS rifles and they shoot the same way... just down right accurate.
 
Clean vs. dirty barrel...

My Dad's 1966 Winchester Model 70 in 30-06, hates a clean barrel. The first shot might not even be on paper at 100yds, while shot #2 and 3 is somewhere on paper, but not consistent. After shot 3, it settles down and shoots sub-MOA until about 22-23 shots, then the groups open up again.

My 1963 Sako L461 in 222RemMag will place the first shot on a clean barrel right where it is supposed to, and it place the 50th shot on the first.

Each rifle is unique to itself.
 
I differ than @Bowhntr6pt on the cleaning between range sessions. Doesn't mean his method is wrong.

The thing that is the same is wet patching for carbon removal. CLP will continue to break down the carbon up as it sits in the bore. I do the same for when I'm returning to the range within 2 weeks for load work outs.

Again another opinion which means nothing in the grand scheme is. The CBS deviance most refer to break down to the barrel quality. I'm of the opinion that "most" of the time for the populace is it's actually "Cold Shooter" . Again opinion.
