Gents,
I gotta question for you and maybe some one with experience can give me his or her .02 cents. I have an opportunity to attend Colts AR15/M16 Armorers Course. It covers everything from rooter to tooter. Except fabrication. It is 3 days long and after successfully passing a written test you are certified by Colt for 3 years. Normally I would never get a chance to attend this and probably never will again. I am not an armorer/gunsmith by trade but enjoy working on them.
All it is going to cost me is time and money. One of which I have allot of the other not so much of, but it is educational and I figure it's good to learn from the source. What are you guys thoughts?
 
I wish I could write it off on my taxes. I can put together a lower no problem but it is putting together the upper that I wasn't comfortable with. During this class you have to disassemble and reassemble a complete upper and then check it with go, no go gauges. I am hoping that this gives me the instruction and confiedence to know that I can order a barrel and received and be able to put it all together myself. May save me and friends some money in the long run.
