AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle. If you wan't a TRUE AR buy an ArmaLite. Even though Colt holds the patent, the rifle is an ArmaLite. Military weapons carried by ground pounders are usually loose fitting, sand and mud will cause a rifle to jam. When your life depends on it, the gun needs to shoot no matter what the conditions. "Mil-spec standards" are so they can have anyone make the parts, and they will fit in any rifle. Look how many companies made 1911 pistols, all the parts are interchangeable.

The RRA that I have is sold as a "Sporting Rifle", and does have a Lifetime Warranty. The manufactures are trying to downplay the military uses of the guns. Because of the anti gun groups.
