Whos making them?? I have found out again I need one for some areas I hunt... If had the combo I could of threaded a shot thru a opening that a shotgun wouldn't work to well for.. But if he would of came out in a bit more open area the shotgun would of been fine.. Need to add to must have..

There are a number of euro manufacturers still making them but are quite expensive. Used Tikka's, Valmet, BRNO, Marrochi, Bernardelli, Biakal and Savage 2400 can be had from $400 to $1000 on a regular basis. Uncommon euro calibers, 5.6x50R Mag, 5.6x52R/22 Highpower will lower the price a little but if you hand load no problem as components are available. Most of the American calibers ones will be in 222 Rem, Biakal will be in 223.

They can be very accurate almost all of mine will shoot under an inch.

Many of them will have dedicated scope mounts so check that you getting the mount too.

Some will have 11mm ribs to mount and air gun mounts will work but are quite high, the lowest mount will be with a 11mm to Weaver adapter.

I'll post some pictures in a little bit.

BRNO in 12ga/5.6x52R Leupold 1-4x20mm scope

It shoots well 55gr .228 Buffalo arms bullet.

Bernardelli 12ga/5.6x50R Mag 1-3x20mm Weaver V-3 with 11mm to Weaver adapt.

Same gun with airgun mounts to clear a 42mm objective but were too high to use comfortably.

A little different, 16ga/16ga/6.5x58R Leupold 1-4x20mm scope

Again very accurate

One thing nice about having a combo gun you don't need to shoot heavy shotgun loads, in the 16ga I use 1 oz of NP BB's and 2's in the 12 ga it is 1 1/4 oz of NP BB's anything over 40 yards I use the rifle.

Once you move up into deer/bear/elk calibers the price can go up considerably.

Sauer 16ga/16ga/7x57R with Weaver K-1.5

Thank you.. Savage does the 410/22 rimfire.. I am looking for a 12/222 or 12.223.. Those are some nice combos AWS and nice groups...I really do need to get just one.. You do have a nice collection there.. Dan

Some random thoughts. Single triggers , hammers and barrel selectors will really slow you down and make mounting a scope difficult. On a Savage 24 you have to mount it so high to be able to reach the barrel selector that it is hard to use the gun quickly. Double triggers and a safety is the fastest way. I tried a Savage 24 years ago and it was a real disappointment.

Straight tube scopes work the best on a combo gun and having 1x or 1.5x on the bottom end gives you enough FOV to even shoot flying critters with some practice but they need to be mounted low for a good cheek weld. With straight tube scopes having from 4-6x on the top end you can reach out a long way.

If you want some leads on some reasonably priced combos, PM me.

Dan, PM me - I'm in PA and have a couple I'm not using much, and was thinking of selling 12/222 Tikka and Marocchi.
