I am a coon junkie and love daytime coon calling. In the winter and temps are 33 degrees or colder, they will poke their heads out usually and that's all you need. Once you shoot them in the head, they almost never fall back down the hole. Even dead, they shake and push their back legs out and 9 times out of 10, they climb right out of the hole and fall to the ground. At night, find their hole and turn on your caller behind the tree. They will come out and circle around the tree and that's about as far as they will go. That's all you need though. Puppie call works best. Good luck. Some days are great, some not so much. I live in Montana and have done well in the last few weeks in cd weather.
