I was looking at buying coon lights with the battery packs for coyote hunting. But I can't find the candle power on any of them. Just wondering if the will be bright enough with the red cover to see 150 + yards. Going to buy a scope mounted light for the actual shooting end. The rechargeable spot lights loose there jucie too quick to just leave them on. And the makers of these coon light say that on the high side ( or bright) that they will last up to 2 hrs.

Any info you guys have on this would help greatly.

Thanks in advance!!!! Jesse

if your planning on buying a coon light i would suggest you buy a 12 volt system and they will work but not the greatest for long ranges...Try an find you a spot light at the coon hunting supplies store that runs of the 12 volt or even 1 24 volt it will be better for you.....

Huntsmart has some good light setups....

as of right now i cant even see coyotes in the dat light at 150 yrds, couldnt even dream a seein one at nite at that range.but i no a nite lite or wheat light will never reach that far,let alone with the red lens cover.

I have a Bandit Light. 12 volt I think. Fairly lite to carry cause battery is on a belt. With a red lense on and fully charged, I can easily see eyes at 100 yds. Shooting would be possible at that distance with any half decent scope.

You may think I am crazy but I use an LED head lamp from Wal-mart. It runs on 3 AAA batteries and you can see red eye coming at you at least 100yds away. Use the big spotlight with red filter over their heads for shooting. Shot 5 fox in one night with that setup.
