It does not look good, both in supplies and price (which always increases when supplies go down).

Copper futures are down on the day. This won't have much of an effect at all. Plenty of copper out there.

It's not as bad as it looks overall. They knew it was coming. Just thought it was going a different rout. I work for Freeport mcmoran. The company has mines all over. Now into oil and natural gas. All it's gonna do is put copper price higher a few cents. Most people don't realize that countries like London and china are sitting on millions of tons of copper. If that happen in the Congo or down in cerro verde I may be worried. Not in the states though

It says state economy because they went from a 850 man reduction to laying off 2100 people. They say it's gonna take 2 years to dig the pit out. Morenci has 3500 plus contractors on staff. Just to put to comparison
